About me
I started singing during my childhood in Cuba. The passion for music never left me.
For over a decade I have been performing as a professional singer in Cuba, Mexico, and the UK. During this time I was part of films, TV and radio shows, and multiple live events mainly in Havana's theatres.
In 2021 I moved to the UK to start the next phase of my career. Since then I have been performing in upscale venues in London like The Maine Mayfair, Annabel's, Park Row, Sky Garden, The Arts Club, and Maison Estelle and colaborating with agencies like ALR, Shiny Stockings, and Comex.
For two consecutive years I was the lead vocalist of the Bristol Salsa Orchestra at Bristol Salsa Congress and hope to return to the congress many more times.
2023 was a very special year for me. Not only was my first son born, but I was also lucky enough to perform at Mick Jagger's 80th birthday party at Embargo Republica and started working on my first album which is a colaboration with two Grammy winners: one of Cuba's best producers Roniel Alfonso and the great Colombian percussionist Caliche Sabogal.
A voice, a presence, a smile, and all the tenderness that a male voice could achieve. Beny Luis, a young Cuban who is not afraid of the tenderness of the songs of yesteryear and who gives his art a force that raises the most reserved spirits to beauty and art. He renews the Nueva Trova with his personal nuances and possesses the wisdom that allows us to rejuvenate the fashions of the past today.
